Chapter 4
Functional Checks
Section 4.1
Overview
4.1.1
Purpose
This Chapter describes how to test the functionality of certain equipment on the eXplore Locus SP.
After troubleshooting a problem, a functional check may be required to determine whether a piece
of equipment is faulty. Should a functional check indicate the piece of equipment is defective, see
Chapter 6 - Field Replaceable Units
.
Section 4.2
Perform Functional Checks
4.2.1
X-Ray Source
The functionality of the X-Ray Source is checked through the diagnosis
X-Ray and Motor
Controller
software.
4.
Ensure all interlocks and the interrupt are closed.
5.
Access the
X-Ray and Motor Controller
software and adjust the tube voltage and tube
current to the following settings:
kV:
70
µA:
20
6.
Click on the
Turn X-Ray On
button.
Note:
A buzz will sound for approximately 8 seconds, X-Ray indicator lights will be illuminated. The
X-Ray and Motor Controller
software also reports that the x-ray tube is turned on and
displays approximately 70kVp and 20µA under Power Status.
The CM LED will display 70kVp and 20µA.
4.2.2
Detector
1.
Mount the bebe grid on the detector using small white nylon screws and washers.
2.
Ensure the filter wheel setting is set to 4.
3.
Install the Interlock Jumper (only required if the outer cabinet is removed).
4.
Warm-up the X-Ray Source using the
System Warm-Up
application as follows:
-
double-click the Warm-Up icon (located beside the clock at the bottom of the screen)
