Left Comair Fan Removal / Replacement

INTRODUCTION

The left fan is located on the rear panel, and blows
air out of the unit.

TOOL LIST

Standard toolkit

SUPPLIES

None

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

X-ray shielding contains lead and lead compounds,
chemicals known (to the State of California) to cause
cancer and other reproductive harm. Wear gloves
when handling shielding and wash hands after handling.

PRECONDITIONS

•

Machine locked out. See 6.1.1 for details.

•

Remove left access panel. See 6.1.2 for details.

REMOVE

1.

Using Phillips screwdriver, remove four
screws, flatwashers, and finger guard
securing fan to rear panel.

2.

Using slotted screwdriver, disconnect
ground wire, and unplug power wires
from fan.

REPLACE

1.

Reverse of removal.

2.

Ensure that air flows out of unit.

3.

Power wires to fan are not polarized.

FOLLOW-ON PROCEDURES

Observe that the fans operate with the
system power on.
