9. Capture an image in Fluoro and name it shim2 .
10. Correct the shim1 file and unwarp it (using Transform1).
11. Load the corrected and unwarped file into MicroView .
12. Use the Worksheet to make a note of the x value of the centre of the bebe using MicroView’s
Region Grow tool.
13. Repeat steps 11 and 12 above (correct, unwarp & load into MicroView) for the shim2 file. Use
the Worksheet to make a note of the x value of the centre of the bebe using MicroView’s
Region Grow tool.
Note: The x values must be within 2 pixels of each other (e.g. if one value is 1140, the other must be
within 1138 to 1142).
If the values ARE NOT within 2 pixels of each other:
14. Place shims behind the elevation rail (loosen stage bolts, etc.). Tighten the screws to a torque
setting of 25 in/lbs.
Note: One pixel is approximately .002" in shims. If the x value of the top bebe in Fluoro is less than the x
value of the bottom bebe, the shim goes on the bottom of the stage. If the x value of the top bebe
is higher, the shim goes at the top of the stage.
The shims are placed close to the
mounting bolts. Larger adjustments
(more than 0.004") will require shims at
both the top
and the bottom to allow the
stage to tip once it is tightened (e.g.
large shim on the bottom and small shim
on the top). This is because flat surfaces
are bolted together.
