Notes on Commissioning
Firmware Update via Stationarily Plugged MMC
Sequence of firmware update with PC:
1. Put MMC delivered for firmware update in MMC adapter of PC.
2. Store file with new firmware (extension ".ibf", folder "Firmware") on
storage medium of PC and remove MMC from PC.
3. Put MMC previously active in drive into PC and on MMC in folder
"Firmware" replace file with previously used firmware by new file.
4. Put MMC previously active in drive with now updated firmware into
controller that was switched off, then switch controller on.
5. When booting the controller the display shows the message
"Firmware update?". Acknowledge this message by pressing the
"Enter" button (control panel).
6. New firmware is now loaded to controller (firmware update); display
shows corresponding download messages.
7. After firmware download boot process is completed, drive in
communication phase P-1 waits for other commands or is put into
readiness for operation via the control master.
Note:
The MMC previously active in the controller remains active
after the firmware update!
Sequence of firmware update without PC:
1. Store axis-specific parameter values stored on the previously active
MMC via command C2500 in non-volatile memory of controller.
2. Switch control voltage of drive off and remove previously active MMC
from controller.
3. Switch drive on again without MMC plugged. During boot phase,
display shows message "Load new Param.?". Acknowledge this
message by pressing the "Enter" button (control panel).
4. After boot phase is over plug new MMC delivered for firmware update
into controller, then with command C2600 transmit axis-specific
parameter values stored in controller to new MMC.
5. After transmission is over switch control voltage of drive off, leave
new MMC in controller and switch drive on again.
6. When booting the controller the display shows the message
"Firmware update?". Acknowledge this message by pressing the
"Enter" button (control panel).
7. New firmware is now loaded to controller (firmware update); display
shows corresponding download messages.
8. Boot process is continued after firmware download and message
"Load new Param.?" appears. Acknowledge this message by
pressing the "Enter" button (control panel). New MMC now is active
MMC of this drive.
9. Boot process is completed, drive in communication phase P-1 waits
for other commands or is put into readiness for operation via the
control master.
Note:
The MMC previously active in the controller is replaced by the
new MMC delivered for the firmware update!
