7.1.1.2 Units
For physical quantities, the unit can be entered. Allowed units depend on the command
used:

k or K (kilo)
●
m or M (milli)
●
u or U (micro)
If the unit is missing, the basic unit is used.
Example:
SENS:FREQ:REF 1.5kHz
=
SENS:FREQ:REF 1500
Some settings allow relative values to be stated in percent. According to SCPI, this unit
is represented by the
PCT
string.
Example:
DISPlay:SWEep:A:TOP 100PCT
7.1.1.3 Special numeric values
The texts
MINimum
and
MAXimum
are interpreted as special numeric values. They
denote the minimum and maximum value.
The numeric values associated to
MAXimum/MINimum
can be queried by adding the
corresponding mnemonics to the command. They must be entered following the quota-
tion mark (see also
Chapter 6.5.2, "Responses to Queries" , on page 653).
Example:
Setting command:
SOUR:VOLT MAX
Query:
SOUR:VOLT? MAX
Response: maximum numeric value
7.1.1.4 Boolean Parameters
Boolean parameters represent two states. The "ON" state (logically true) is represen-
ted by "ON" or a numeric value 1. The "OFF" state (logically untrue) is represented by
"OFF" or the numeric value 0. The character values are provided as the response for a
query.
Example:

SENSe:FILTer:AWEighting ON or 1
Query:

ON
