By default, the marker position is specified by the marker frequency and complex
resistance in
Ω
. The complex resistance in that case is calculated according to :
(real component) + j (imaginary component).
1. Select the "Marker Mode" softkey.
The R&S Cable Rider ZPH displays the marker mode submenu.
2. Select the marker format that you require.
The R&S Cable Rider ZPH adjusts the marker information accordingly.

Selecting the reference impedance
The default reference impedance (the matching point in the center of the smith chart) is
50 Ω. It is, however, also possible to perform reflection measurements on networks
with another impedance.
1. Press the MARKER key.
2. Select the "Marker Mode" softkey.
The R&S Cable Rider ZPH displays the marker mode submenu.
3. Select the "Ref Impedance" menu item.
The R&S Cable Rider ZPH opens an input field to select the reference impedance.
4. Enter the reference impedance you require.
The value is from 1 m
Ω
to 10 k
Ω
.
7.1.5 Phase Measurement
The phase measurement shows the phase characteristics of the DUT in degrees. The
diagram is a Cartesian diagram with a linear vertical axis. The horizontal axis repre-
sents the measured frequency range.
In the default state, the R&S Cable Rider ZPH shows the phase only from -200° to
+200°. In that case, the R&S Cable Rider ZPH displays measurement results correctly
only if the phase difference between two adjacent test points is less than 180°.
You can unwrap the phase to expand the range of the phase.
1. Press the MEAS key.
2. Select the "Phase" softkey.
The R&S Cable Rider ZPH performs the phase measurement of the DUT.
3. Select the "Wrap" or "Unwrap" softkey.
4. Select the "Others" softkey to acess the settings for "Electrical Length", "Elect
Length Offset" and "Auto Length".
● "Electrical Length" - Enable or disable the check box to display the electrical
length of the DUT.
