Chapter 13

Maintaining a Nitrogen Phosphorus Detector

Replace the NPD Thermionic Source

Maintenance and Troubleshooting Manual

6. Unscrew the grub screw on the collar of the 

source holder.

7. Remove the four retaining screws of the source 

metallic socket and pull out the source.

8. Gently replace the thermionic source, pushing it 

in straight.

9. Fix the thermionic source into its housing, 

tightening the grub screw.
