Creating cross-connections
Proceed as follows to create the required cross-connections:

In the WaveStar

CIT
System View
of NE-A, select
Configuration
→
Cross-Connection
→
Create
to set up a cross-connection.
Result:
The
Create New Cross Connection
window appears.

Select/Activate the
Signal Rate Auto Set
check box and define the cross-connection
rate in the Rate drop-down list box according to the analyzer signal used. The
following values are possible:

VC-3 (SDH) / STS-1 (SONET)

VC-4

(SONET)
•
VC-4-4c
(SDH) /
STS-12
(SONET)
•
VC-4-16c
(SDH) /
STS-48
(SONET)

Please note that it is not possible to proceed to the next window before selecting the
cross-connection rate.
