Fan unit test failure

Overview

The procedure described below should be performed if one of the following failures
can be observed:

•

The “PWR ON” LED does not light up on the fan unit.
Procedure 1 must be used in this case.

•

Not all fans are running.
Procedure 2 must be used in this case.

•

The air flow direction is not from bottom to top.
Procedure 2 must be used in this case.

Procedure 1

Proceed as follows if the “PWR ON” LED does not light up on the fan unit:

Switch all circuit breakers on the subrack backplane (see chapter 5,

Figure 5-1, “PI/100

switching” (p. 5-5)

) to the

OFF

position (=“O”).

Replace all affected fan power cables between the Power Interfaces and the fan unit.
Make sure that the cables are tight afterwards.

Switch all circuit breakers on the subrack backplane to the

ON

position (=“I”).

up on the fan unit,

switch all circuit breakers on the subrack
backplane to the

OFF

replace the affected fan unit.

the fan unit,
