Mounting the subracks into rack

Before you begin

This section describes the main use/configuration — the mounting of two

LambdaUnite

®

subracks into one rack. However, the procedure described below is in

principle also valid for mounting one subrack only (which should then be mounted in
the upper position). If a mixed configuration is used (

LambdaUnite

®

and

Metropolis

®

DMX subracks within one rack) please refer to

Appendix E, “Mixed configuration:

DMX (High Capacity)”

Procedure

Important!

It is very important to follow the instructions below exactly (step

by step). Otherwise there is a risk that the subrack will be put out of shape
and that it will not be possible to insert the XC circuit packs in the slots.

Proceed as follows to mount the subracks:

Unpack the subracks and check the installation materials.

Temporarily remove the front mounting brackets (DC1003774, item 1 and DC1003775,
item 2) from the subracks. The rear brackets should not be removed.

Mount 4 fiber clips (CC848850756, item 5) on the front mounting brackets of each
subrack.

Temporarily remove the rubber profile (DC1003971, item 6) from the lower subrack.
