Required equipment
Prior to performing this task, the following equipment must be available:
1. WaveStar
®
CIT PC
2. CAT5 crossover LAN cable with RJ-45/RJ-45 connectors (see chapter 4, Figure
4-48, “CIT connection (LAN crossed)” (p. 4-74) )
3. Optical power meter
– Range: –35 ... +20 dBm
– Wavelength: 1310 nm/1550 nm
4. SDH/SONET analyzer
The required transmission rate depends on the optical circuit packs used. The
optical circuit pack with the lowest transmission rate determines the transmission
rate that should be used for the test. For example, if OP2G5, OP10 and OP40
circuit packs are used, an STM-16/OC-48 transmission signal is required.
5. ESD Wrist Strap.
Prerequisites
Prior to performing this task, you must have done the following:
1. Logged in to WaveStar
®
CIT as Super User (see chapter 5, section “Starting the
WaveStar
®
CIT application” (p. 5-18) ) if WaveStar
®
CIT User Login has been
enabled during WaveStar
®
CIT installation.
2. Logged in to the NE.
3. Checked that all used optical ports are clean. A cleaning procedure is given in
appendix A, section “Fiber cleaning” (p. A-21) .
