Rack extension (width)

Purpose

The ETSI-2 rack extension (CC848894416) is used to route STM-1e, DS3 and fiber
cables which do not fit properly in the rack frame.

Mounting the rack extension

Proceed as follows to mount the rack extension:

Remove the rack adapter kits (see section

“Rack adapter kit” (p. 3-19)

) on both sides

of the rack frame.

Mount the spacers (SC1004410, item 1) at the top and bottom and on both sides of the
rack frame with tapping thread-forming, M6x16 screws (CC901331421).

Mount the H-profile (SC1004418, item 2) to the cage nut holes on both sides of the
rack frame.

Route the needed STM-1e, DS3 and/or fiber cables cables (see chapter 4).

Mount the ETSI-2 style strips (SC1004423, item 3). To do that, hook the style strip in
the spacer (at the top) and fix it with a M5 nut at the bottom as shown in the figure
below.
