
NOTE:
In the following the removed CTL unit will be called “CTL unit (active)”.
Result:
The following can be observed:
•
A switch to the standby CTL unit is caused without affecting traffic.
•
The communication between
WaveStar
®
CIT and the NE will be lost.
•
After about two minutes the standby CTL unit must be up and running.
This is the case when the standby CTL unit is marked with “(A)” in the CIT
System View
and when its “Active” LED is permanently illuminated.
The LED behavior on the standby CTL unit is as follows:
1. The “Active” LED flashes and the “Fault” LED is illuminated.
2. The “Active” LED flashes.
3. The “Active” LED flashes and the “Fault” LED is illuminated.
4. The “Active” LED flashes.
5. The “Active” LED is permanently illuminated.
Troubleshooting:
If the conditions described above cannot be observed, refer to
appendix A, section
“CTL protection test failure” (p. A-10)

Re-insert the “CTL unit (active)”.
Result:
The LED behavior on the re-inserted CTL unit is as follows:
1. The “Fault” LED is illuminated.
2. The “Active” LED flashes.
3. The “Active” LED and the “Fault” LED are extinguished.
After about four minutes the following must be observed:
•
The “Active” LED on the standby CTL unit is permanently illuminated.
•
The “Active” LED and the “Fault” LED on the “CTL unit (active)” are
extinguished.
Troubleshooting:

appendix A, section
