Switching off an NE

Overview

In order to avoid damage to the NE database stored on the

CompactFlash

™

card, it is

of great importance to follow a special procedure for switching off an NE.

Procedure

Proceed as follows to switch off an NE:

THEN ...

one CTL unit is plugged,

proceed to

Step 2

.

two CTL units are plugged,

remove the inactive CTL unit from its slot.

Open the latches of the active CTL unit.

Do not remove the CTL from its slot at that

time.

Result:

The green “ACTIVE” LED on the faceplate of the CTL starts flashing.

Wait until the green “ACTIVE” LED has stopped flashing (about five seconds).

Remove the CTL from its slot.
