Testing the Variable Frequency
Drive (VFD)

Press the “Local/Remote” button to switch the blower VFD on the back of
the EnergySmart Dryer from the default of “Remote” to “Local”.

Using the “Start” and “Stop” buttons on the VFD, ‘Jog’ the motor to
check for proper wheel rotation.
The motor should be started in accor-
dance with the manufacturer's recommendations. Arrows on the process
blower indicate the proper direction of rotation and air flow.

Press the “Start” button to bring the process blower up to speed.
Watch
for anything unusual such as vibration, overheating of bearings and motor,
etc.

Check the blower’s motor amperage against the nameplate amperage
to
ensure that the motor is not overloading. The amperage is shown on the
display screen.

Press the “Stop” button,
once the blower has been tested and is operating
properly,

Switch the blower VFD from “Local” back to the default of “Remote”.

TIP:
The display screen shows
the rotation direction. Rotation
arrow should always be point-
ing foward (clockwise).
