Further in the section for description of configuring and controlling the system we
use terminology, used in the Intrepid™ system itself. With any questions regarding
used terminology, refer to Intrepid™ System Installation and Operations Manual.
Before starting to control
Intrepid™
perimeter security system using
VideoNet
,
it’s necessary to set up
VideoNet
configuration parameters. System configuration
parameters setup, as was already mentioned in the chapter
3
, is a multistage
procedure that in the end enables to configure parameters and system working in
accordance with your tasks and requirements. Thereby it’s strongly recommended
to set up system parameters in the sequence, which is recommended in this
section.
For working with
Intrepid™
perimeter security system it is necessary to configure
the following:
on the
Devices
panel
on the
Plans
panel
on the
Scheduler
panel
on the
Network
panel
• add perimeter devices –
SMI Intrepid PSS
into configuration and
to set up their parameters [refer to 7.1.1 section];
• add perimeter devices –
Sensors
into configuration and to set
up their parameters [refer to 7.1.1 section];
• load and set up graphic plans of guarded object [refer to 7.1.2
section];
• arrange perimeter devices and, if necessary, other devices
(cameras, microphones, etc.) on plans [refer to 7.1.2 section];
• configure
schedule
so that the system would establish the fact
of alarm receiving from perimeter devices and would perform a
number of predefined actions in response to such an event [refer
to 7.1.3 section];
• configure
message service
parameters for informing definite
system operators about events at guarded object [refer to 7.1.4
section];
Attention!
To be able to work in
VideoNet
system with integrated
Intrepid™
perimeter security system, you should have corresponding
licence
, written in
your
HASP key
.
To view your HASP key licence:
1. Switch to
Configuration
mode.
2. Select
Computer->Licence...
item in the main menu.
3.
Licence
page opens for the selected computer.

7.1.1. Adding and configuring perimeter security devices
For success working with
VideoNet
system it is necessary to add
SMI Intrepid
PSS
device into configuration and, if necessary, to connect
Sensors
to it. When
connecting
sensors
to inputs of
SMI Intrepid PSS
device, it is important to take into
account physical setup of these devices in
Intrepid™
