SKYROS Corporation VideoNet 8.4 User guide
To perform video and audio recording it is necessary to set up recording
parameters for cameras and microphones and to specify the place on your hard
drives for the system to save information to. You can create recording functions
and pre-recording functions and include cameras and microphones to them. To
activate recording functions at the schedule event occurrence, it is necessary
to perform the corresponding settings on the Schedule panel.
Also you can make emergency recording from the video window, having previously
set up its parameters on the Recording panel. The system enables to regulate
place of storage for the recorded information and such parameters as storage
time and the way of storage cleanup.
If you want to save important records, you can either create archiving functions
by cameras and microphones for this purpose or archive the records by means
of the system.
3.5.1. Recording and Archiving. Introduction
!
One of the main functions of the
VideoNet
system as video surveillance system
is video and audio information recording.
VideoNet
enables the possibility to:
• work at high speed with archives of big size (hundreds of gigabytes, terabytes);
• define a place for records storage depending on the cause, time or recording
source;
• perform
pre-recording
, which allows to reconstruct the events, preceded the
alarm;
• transfer large information content from one server to another;
• swap data carrier without system stop working;
• set up various storage time depending on the cause of recording.
VideoNet
system enables to create unlimited number of
tasks for recording
by
cameras and microphones.
Recording parameters
can be set up separately for
each recording
source
. The system can activate several
tasks for recording
by
one camera/microphone simultaneously.
For example, you can “program” continuous recording by a camera (with definite
recording parameters), recording from camera at
motion detected
(with other
recording parameters) and at the same time an operator can start
emergency
recording
by this camera (with other
recording parameters
). In these cases the
system enables to regulate information flow according to the cause of
recording
and
recording source
. To do that, the system has special storages for the
information –
volumes
.
Volumes
allow flexibly to organize information storage
on the hard drives, making it possible to arrange archive files in arbitrary folders
on arbitrary logical drives.
You can organize recording of various
sources
(cameras, microphones) to various
volumes
, using
recording functions
and
VideoNet
schedule, so that:
• definite
volumes
will contain only
records
from definite
cameras
(microphones);
• definite
volumes
will contain only
records
, made because of some reason (by
alarm, by user’s command, constantly by a
schedule
and so on);
• and just any way you need.
During that, you can set up various storage time for each
volume
according to
