3.1.1.1. Types of devices

 Camera

It is intended for video signal transmission from the device to video capture card.

Before adding camera into configuration, it is necessary to connect it to one of the

video inputs of video capture card or to an input of videoswitch. In the device tree

camera  can  be  connected  to  an  input  of 

video  capture  device

  or  to  one  of  the

inputs of 

videoswitch

. The system distinguishes 

colour 

and 

black/white

 cameras.

 Microphone

It is intended for audio signal transmission from the device to audio capture card.

Before adding microphone into your configuration, it is necessary to connect it to

one of the audio inputs of audio capture card. In the device tree microphone can

be connected to an audio input of 

audio capture device

.

 Microphone, connected to IP-camera

It is intended for audio signal transmission from the device to IP-camera. Before

adding microphone into your configuration, it is necessary to connect it to one of

the audio inputs of IP-camera. In the device tree microphone can be connected to

an audio input of 

IP-camera. 

The system doesn’t distinguish microphone built-in

into IP-camera and external microphone, connected to IP-camera.

 Video capture device

It is intended for video signal digitizing (capture). The system provides connecting

of the following kinds of video capture devices:
