MATRIX
VideoNet
system introduces a new concept–
network matrix
.
Network matrix
is
intended for equipping surveillance system and is based on computer hardware
and corresponding software.
Now it is possible to combine information from all sources, included in this security
system, in one field and simultaneously to display it to several
monitors
. To create
multi-monitor configuration
user can unite monitors of several computers in a
single
controlling network
–
network matrix
. You can quickly switch between
network matrix
monitors and adequately control the system on them. Thereby an
operator can observe the situation simultaneously on several
monitors
, what
considerably increases quality and perception of information, given by the system.
When the same time an operator can fully (depending on his access rights)
control the system from one place, using only keyboard/mouse/system controller.
During that, all the system controlling can be brought to one source, what
considerably simplifies system controlling in whole.
Network matrix
is supposed to be used on large objects, where the number of
cameras, microphones, sensors, executive devices and etc. is so great, that
information output to 1-4 monitors seems to be inexpedient, since it causes
information output effectiveness loss.
Network matrix
allows to desist from using expensive specialized video adapters,
which have low efficiency, to output video image to a large number of monitors (as
a rule, more than 4). This structure, having similar set of functions, but with lower
cost, enables to save on cost of system assemblage and servicing.
Network matrix
distinguishes
master
and
slave
computers.
Master
computers are intended for controlling sources of video information.
You can assign an unlimited number of
slave
computers for
master
computer,
monitors of
slave
computers can be used, for example, for panoramic surveilance.
To start network matrix configuring:
1. Add computers, you want to set as
slave
, to
master
computer system
configuration. Adding computers is described in
3.8.2
section. Click
Apply
button. Wait until configuration interchange with added computers is
performed.
2. Add user with name
NMC
LIENT
to system configurations of every computer,
you want to set as
slave
. Adding users is performed on the
Access
page
(refer to chapter
3.6
). If necessary, configure access rights and security policies
for that type of user on every
slave computer
.
3. Open
Matrix
page on every
slave
computer and select
Slave computer of
Network Matrix
on the
General
tab. Click
Apply
button. Wait until configuration
interchange with
slave
computers is performed.

4. Open
Matrix
page in configuration setup mode. To do that, click
button on the configuration page select panel of the
master
computer.
