Note:

Because the switch administrator password is contained in each 
NETGEAR Switch Discovery Protocol (NSDP) packet, disabling the 
SCC utility increases the switch security.

Configure management access

You can configure the global settings for HTTP and secure HTTP (HTTPS) access to the 
switch’s local browser interface. You can also configure access control profiles and access 
rules.

Configure HTTP access settings

You can configure the HTTP access settings on the switch.

To configure the HTTP access settings:

1. 

Connect your computer to the same network as the switch.

You can use a WiFi or wired connection to connect your computer to the network, or 
connect directly to a switch that is off-network using an Ethernet cable.

2. 

Launch a web browser.

3. 

In the address field of your web browser, enter the IP address of the switch.
