Draining Fuel Tank Impurities
Stop the engine and remove the key.
Loosen the drain tap

on the underside of the fuel tank.
Drain the water and deposits until clean diesel oil flows out.
Close the drain tap firmly.

WARNING
Fuel oil is highly inflammable. Completely wipe off any
spilt fuel which could cause a fire.

Draining the Water Separator
The water separator should be drained at least every 50
hours, but more often if necessary.
Stop the engine and remove the key.
Open the drain plug

to release the accumulated water in
the bowl.
Under no circumstances should the float
C
be allowed to
rise above the red line
D
or water could get taken further into
the system with serious consequences.
Changing the Fuel Filter Element

Stop the Engine
Stop the engine and remove the key.

Disconnect the Battery

Open the Engine Compartment
Locate the fuel filter.

Remove the Element A
Using a chain wrench, unscrew the filter element from
the filter head. Avoid spilling the fuel retained in the
element.

Fit the New Element

Smear the new filter element sealing ring with fuel
oil and hand tighten onto the filter head. Use a
chain wrench to tighten by a further

turn.

After installation, bleed the air.

Wipe up any spilled fuel.
