Draining Tank Impurities

WARNING
Oil is toxic. If you swallow any oil, do not induce
vomiting, seek medical advice. Used engine oil contains
harmful contaminants which can cause skin cancer. Do
not handle used engine oil more than necessary. Always
use barrier cream or wear gloves to prevent skin
contact. Wash skin contaminated with oil thoroughly in
warm soapy water. Do not use petrol, diesel fuel or
paraffin to clean your skin.

Prepare the Machine
Position the machine on level ground. stop the engine.
Remove the Starter Key.

Release Tank Pressure

Drain the Tank Impurities
Remove the tank drain plug

and drain off
accumulated water and other deposits (have ready
some means of collecting the impurities). The task is
complete when clean hydraulic fluid flows out.

Seal the System
Refit the drain plug

Changing the Pilot Oil Filter

Prepare the Machine
Position the machine on level ground. Stop the engine.
Remove the starter key.

Release Tank Pressure

Locate the Pilot Oil Filter

Dismantle the Filter

Using a wrench on the case, unscrew the filter case

from the filter head

Take care not to spill the oil it contains.

Remove and discard the element

and O-ring

Clean the Filter Base and Case
Discard any fluid in the filter case. Clean out the case
and the underside of the head.

Fit New Filter Components

Coat the new O-ring

with hydraulic fluid and
locate in the filter head

Coat the seal area of the new element

and install
it in the filter case

Screw the filter case

to the head

and tighten
with the wrench.
