Adjusting Duplex Registration
Duplex registration adjustment follows a similar procedure to simplex adjustments.
Use the job defaults under the Printer Setup menu to print multiple copies of the Print
Quality Test print in two-sided (duplex) mode. Fold these prints as before and
measure deflection of the fold line on the target. If deflection of the fold line in either
direction exceeds 2.5 mm, use the following procedure to make the necessary duplex
registration adjustments.
1. Enter Service Diagnostics.
2. Select Printer NVRAM Adjustments , then press the OK button.
3. Select either the duplex process adjustment ( Duplex Proc Dir ) or scan
adjustment (
Duplex Scan Dir
), then press the OK button.
4.
Use the Up Arrow and Down Arrow buttons to set the new value based on
measurements taken from the target area.
5.
Press the OK button to save the setting.
6. Press the Back button.
7.
Exit Service Diagnostics and reprint the Print Quality test print.
8.
Fold as before to verify your adjustments.
9.
Repeat Steps 1 through 8 until duplex registration is corrected.
