Verifying That the Port Error Disable Setting Is Working Correctly
Purpose
Verify that the port error disable setting is working as expected on MAC limited, MAC
move limited and rate-limited interfaces on an EX Series switch.
Action
Display information about interfaces:

Meaning
The sample output from the
show ethernet-switching interfaces
command shows that
three of the down interfaces specify the reason that the interface is disabled:
•
MAC limit exceeded
—The interface is temporarily disabled due to a mac-limit error.
The disabled interface is automatically restored to service when the disable-timeout
expires.
•
MAC move limit exceeded
—The interface is temporarily disabled due to a
mac-move-limit error. The disabled interface is automatically restored to service when
the disable-timeout expires.
•
Storm control in efffect
—The interface is temporarily disabled due to a storm-control
error. The disabled interface is automatically restored to service when the
disable-timeout expires.
