Refitting the cylinder heads
Before installing the complete heads,
change head gasket (12) and check
that locating pins (A) and bushings (B)
are present (Sect. N 5).
Fit the complete head over the
crankcase stud bolts and locate it
fully against the cylinder.
Fit the special washers (20) over the
stud bolts (P) with the live edged face
toward the head and the flat face
towards the inside.
Lubricate the ends of the polygonal
nuts (19) and the threads of the stud
bolts with the recommended grease.
Use tool 88713.2376 combined with
a torque wrench to tighten the
polygonal nuts to the prescribed
torque value, proceeding in a
crosswise pattern (Sect. C 3).
Important
Adopting a procedure other
than the one indicated can result in
abnormal elongation of the stud bolts
with resulting serious damage to the
engine.

Refit the lateral timing
belt covers and the
belts themselves N 4.2
Refit engine to frame N 1
Rimontaggio teste
Prima di procedere al montaggio
delle teste complete sostituire la
guarnizione testa (12) e verificare
che siano presenti le spine di
riferimento (A) e le boccole (B)
(Sez. N 5).
Inserire la testa completa nei
prigionieri del carter e portarla in
battuta sul cilindro.
Inserire nei prigionieri (P) le rondelle
speciali (20) con la superficie a spigolo
vivo rivolta verso la testa e con il lato
piano rivolto verso l’interno.
Ingrassare le estremità dei dadi
poligonali (19) e il filetto dei prigionieri
con grasso prescritto.
Utilizzando l’attrezzo 88713.2376
abbinato ad una chiave
dinamometrica, serrare i dadi
poligonali fissaggio alla coppia
prescritta procedendo a croce
(Sez. C 3).
Importante
Una procedura diversa da quella
indicata può provocare un
allungamento abnorme dei prigionieri
e causare gravi danni al motore.
