Signature labeller
-
label gap sensor sensitivity adjustment
-
continued
Using mode threshold or absolute
The software screens on the previous page allows the sensing mode to be set to threshold or absolute
(Worldview software has additional options
-
refer to Worldview operation manual).
Using threshold
-
(default setting with value of 800)
If the gap sensor reading is viewed while pulling the label / backing paper through the sensor, the value will
change between label and gap. This change in value must be a least the value set (gap threshold)
Using absolute
When the mode type is set to absolute, the value seen by the sensor must drop to this value or below
Example of typical label readings and setup
For setting the correct value, enter the screen shown on previous page and manually move the label
through the gap sensor to observe the readings as the label passes the sensor and also the gap through
the sensor.
With a solid white label typical values can be:
Label in sensor –
2400
Gap in sensor –
240
Nothing in sensor –
150
2.
Change jumper (J5) position
For Signature labeller with additional sensor I/F board, this jumper setting is not normally required,
sufficient adjustment can be carried out with the sensor I/F board
The Jumper J5 on the labeller board has 4 positions (A,B,C & D).
By moving the jumper to a different setting the values obtained will change.
A giving the lowest value and D giving the highest value.
J5 jumper setting on labeller board.
Note: J6 jumper set not used.
Table below shows different values obtained from different jumper settings
using plain white label
Jumper setting
Nothing in sensor
Label in sensor
Label gap in sensor
A
130
800
230
B
150
2400
240
C
170
3400
270
D
180
3700
290
NOTE: different values will be obtain with different types / print colour /
transparency level of label therefore careful setup is required to ensure
correct feed out of label.
NOTE: These values will differ depending on trimmer pot
adjustment of I/F board
The values are a typical example when the J5 jumper set-
ting on the labeller board is set at its default setting of
‘
B
’.
