Condition of wear strip - Signature labeller
The print head wear strip needs to be in good condition, with no debris on it to ensure a good print quality.
Check wear strip is clean and in good condition.
For replacing this wear strip, refer to the servic-
ing section.
Condition of platen roller - Classic labeller
The platen roller in the Classic labeller should be checked for wear and/or damage as this can affect the
print quality. Also check the roller surface is clean and the roller spins easily.
Note: will not spin independently if back feed kit is fitted.
Lift the thermal head assembly by turning the black
hand lever.
Check platen roller is clean, free from
damage and rotates freely (no back-
feed fitted).
Lift the print head by turning the black
knob to gain access to the wear strip,
remove labels / backing paper if required
If the Signature labeller has the platen roller
assembly fitted check the roller surface is clean
with no damage to it and the roller spins easily.
