Installation requirements
Site requirements
This machine is designed to work within the normal environments associated with the food industry, i.e.
humidity –
non condensing environment and temperature between 0°C and +30°C. Weighing and labelling
equipment is however sensitive to misuse and due care and attention should be given to the operating
environment.
Environment
Excessive water and foreign matter must not be allowed to build up on flat surfaces.
The operating temperature and humidity must be within the machine specification.
Aggressive chemicals may attack and degrade conveyor belts and the internal workings of the machine.
Location
The machine should be operated on a flat level surface. On uneven floors due care must be taken to level
the machine. Sloping floors should be avoided as the machine may slip or even fall over.
The machine should be positioned on a solid (vibration free) flat floor. The outfeed of the machine must
allow the packs to leave the machine smoothly and continuously at all times. It is very important that the
transfer of packs from the outfeed conveyor is not blocked as this may cause damage to the machine.
Electrical supply
The machine requires an electrical supply of either 220
-
240 V AC at 50 Hz or 105
-
115 V AC at 60 Hz,
depending on machine version and country.
Circuit breaker
The machine is fitted with a miniature circuit breaker, great care should be taken to ensure that the live/
phase connection of the machine is mated to the live/phase connection of the supply.
Interference
The supply must be free from large spikes, dropouts and other types of line borne interference.
If the supply is subject to interference additional equipment may be needed to bring the supply condition up
to an acceptable level.
Connection
The electrical supply should conform to relevant national or international standards with regard to safety, in
particular electrical earth requirements.
The supply connection should ensure accidental disconnection is unlikely.
Warning
If the machine is connected to an incorrect voltage supply, or if the phase and neutral supply lines
are crossed, there may be serious damage to the machine and serious injury to the user or other
persons.
Air supply
This machine is fitted with a label printer, which requires a supply of clean compressed air. The supply must
be free of oil or water, either as a mist or vapour. The air requirement is a pressure range of 4
-
6 bar at 50
to 300 ltrs/min. The Air pressure filter/regulator is located on the outfeed/labeller frame.
Accreditation
Weighing and price labelling machinery is usually subject to checking or monitoring according to a national,
or E.C. authority. A seal or stamp may need to be applied to the machine before use.
