Labeller drive / pressure roller cleaning
To ensure the drive & pressure rollers grip the backing paper for correct drive of labels, the pair of rollers
should be cleaned regularly.
BE CAREFUL
-
The drive roller material can be sensitive to some cleaning agents.
Use a soft lint free cloth moistened with Isopropyl Alcohol to clean the rollers. Ensure that all deposits are
removed.
Check this cleaning fluid is acceptable with the relevant authorities for food industry applications.
Allow the rollers to dry before refitting the label roll paper.
Signature labeller
Hinge the pressure roller away from the drive roller
to gain access and remove the label backing paper
from the roller.
Use a soft lint free cloth moistened with
Isopropyl Alcohol to clean the rollers.
Ensure that all deposits are removed.
Classic labeller
Remove backing paper, pull rollers apart
and check condition
Clean around both rollers
Check the pressure roller is free to rotate and operates smoothly against
the spring pressure in its end mounts
Use PPE when handling cleaning materials
When
handling cleaning material, protective clothing
such as
safety
gloves and goggles should be worn.
