Keep Alive
Keep Alive is when the collector sends KEEP-ALIVE messages to the exporter after a certain period (not to exceed the Keep
Alive Interval parameter). This parameter is configurable at the C4/c CMTS and is communicated to the collector when it
connects. In addition, the exporter sends KEEP-ALIVE messages to the collector after a certain period, not to exceed the
value specified by the collector when it connects.
Missed Interval
Missed Interval is when the exporter is unable to start a scheduled session interval. Possible reasons for missed intervals
include:
The RSM may be overburdened with higher priority activities, preventing all Interim Records from completing within a
single session interval.
The TCP connection to the collector is congested due to a sluggish network or an unusually slow collector.
No collectors are connected.
Surveillance
Surveillance of IPDR operation is accomplished by means of:
Connection Logs
Session Logs
SNMP Traps
Connection Logs
The connection log entries include the following IPDR report information:
Time (local and UTC) when a collector connected or disconnected
The IP address and source port of a collector
Identify whether this is the primary collector
Identify an unknown or unconfigured collector
Collector switchover
