System Console Log Commands
Purpose
Command
Used to enable the sending of system logging messages to the
console, and set the priority level.
Caution: Enabling console logging at lower priorities may negatively
impact system performance due to the number of log messages in
conjunction with the relatively slow speed of the console port.
Use the [no] option to disable sending system logging messages to the
console.
configure logging console <level> [no]

Used to display the current logging configuration and utilization
statistics for the system console.
show logging console

Configure Console Logging
The following example command configures the system console to receive logging messages at level 3, critical priority:
configure logging console 3
Eliminate Console Logging
The following example command eliminates the display of event 3 priorities on the system console screen:
configure logging console 3 no
The following example command eliminates the display of all event priorities on the system console screen:
configure logging console no
Monitor (Telnet or Secure Shell)
Local and remote system users accessing the C4/c CMTS can have specific system events viewable on their terminal
screens, when required.
