copy * running-config
Purpose
Copy the file specified to the running-config file.

Command Syntax
copy <file> running-config [full] [verbose]

Information
Caution - Uses the specified file to redefine the system configuration. Its basic purpose is to quickly apply a known configuration to
an inactive system. Do not execute this command on an active system
Note: Copies of the running config, cacert-config and provcmcert-config files of the current configuration should always be backed-
up in the event they need to be reloaded after an upgrade. If you don’t perform this step, you will have to reconfigure the slots,
modules, ports, and security certificates. The backup server must be running a TFTP server and the file names used must exist in the
tftpboot directory.
Parameters
<file>
Path to the file to be copied over
To copy remote files, use one of the following:
tftp://<host>/<file>
-or-
ftp://username:pwd@<host>/<file>
[full]
Displays all configuration values, including default values.
[verbose]
Displays the output with "configure" on each line.
