Purpose
CLI Command
To clear all ISCA counts in the C4/c CMTS:
clear qos-sc penalty-count
To clear all ISCA counts for a cable-mac, a modem, or an
SCN:
clear qos-sc penalty-count [{cable-mac <mac> | cm <mac-
address> |name <name>}]
To take a CM out of penalty and clear the penalty history
counts so that it won’t go right back into penalty, use
either of these commands. They do the same thing with
different syntax.
clear cable modem delete
configure reset cable-modem delete
The following example of the output of the show cable modem CLI command shows two modems in the penalty state. This
is indicated by the "#" character.
CER show cable modem

The first line of the output shows a DOCSIS 3.0 bonded modem with US/DS tmax values configured for 10 and 50 Mbps.
The
show cable modem
command does not make it clear how many flows are active for this bonded modem. The pound
sign indicates that one or more of these flows have exceeded the configured bandwidth usage trigger rate and are now in
penalty. The second line shows that a DOCSIS 2.0 modem has US/DS tmax values configured for 2 and 5 Mbps respectively.
Only one or more of the DS flows have exceeded the penalty threshold. The bandwidth usage trigger rate is set by the
configure qos-sc enforce-rule command. Customers desiring greater accuracy should use the show cable modem detail
<mac> command.
To display penalty counts use the
show cable modem qos-sc enforcement
command. An example of its output follows:
DS US DS Penalty US Penalty
