The C4/c CMTS maintains a separate history of changes for each upstream channel with an active Upstream Agility state
machine. Each upstream channel history holds up to 100 entries. After 100 entries are stored, each new entry overwrites
the oldest entry. Trigger information recorded in these histories contains the conditions that triggered the event but not all
the conditions defined by the trigger.
A failed attempt will result in the state showing a transition back to the original state. For example: 2 -> 3 -> 2 represents a
failed attempt to transition to state 3.
Example of Modifying a State Machine
This scenario presumes that you wish to modify the state machine created in
(page 664). The
change you wish to make is to delete state 5 and to add a different improvement trigger to get from state 6 to state 4. For
the sake of this example we will assume that the state machine is currently active on only one upstream, shown in the
example command below.
To Modify a State Machine (Example)
1.
Disassociate the state machine from the upstream channel:
configure interface cable-upstream <slot>/<port> cable spectrum-group no
2.
Create a new trigger:
configure cable spectrum-group trigger 25 improvement fec_err 1 ufec_err 1 SNR 32
3.
Before deleting the state, remove the triggers to and from the state:
