Levelling the Header
The
fl
oat module is factory-set to provide the proper level for the header and should not normally require adjustment.
If the header is
NOT
level, perform the following checks prior to adjusting the levelling linkages:
• Check the combine tire pressures.
• Check that the combine feeder house is level. Refer to your combine operator’s manual for instructions.
• Check that the top of the
fl
oat module is level and parallel with the feeder house.
NOTE:
The
fl
oat module
fl
oat springs are
NOT
used to level the header.
1. Park the combine on level ground.
2. Set the header approximately 6 in. (150 mm) off the
ground, and check that the
fl
oat linkage is against the
down stops. Note the high and low end of the header.
3. Set wing

4. Check, and if necessary adjust the

Figure 3.331: Wing Lock
5. Adjust the header level by making small adjustments
(1/4–1/2 turn) to nut (A) on each
fl
oat lock. Adjust each
side equally but in opposite directions as follows:
NOTE:
Setscrew (B) does not require loosening for
adjustments up to one-half turn of nut (A).
a. Turn low-side nut
clockwise
to raise header.
b. Turn
high-side
nut
counterclockwise
to
lower header.
NOTE:
Adjustment of more than two turns in either
