oat value on the

oat indicator and
maintain this value during operation (disregard
minor
fl
uctuations on the indicator).
Checking and Adjusting Header Float
The header is equipped with a suspension system that
fl
oats the header over the ground to compensate for
ridges, trenches, and other variations in ground contour. If the header
fl
oat is not set properly, it may cause the
cutterbar to push into the ground or leave uncut crop. This procedure describes how to check header
fl
oat and
adjust to the factory-recommended settings.
DANGER
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected start-up of machine, always stop engine and remove key
from ignition before leaving operator’s seat for any reason.
1. Level the header and
fl
oat module. If the header and
fl
oat module are not level, perform the following checks
before adjusting the
fl
oat:
IMPORTANT:
Do
NOT
use the
fl
oat module
fl
oat springs to level
the header.
• Park the combine on a level surface.
• Check that the combine feeder house is level. Refer
to your combine operator’s manual for instructions.
• Check that the top of the
fl
oat module is level with
the combine axle.
• Ensure the combine tires are in
fl
ated equally.
2. Adjust header so that the cutterbar is 6–10 in.
(150–254 mm) off the ground.
3. Adjust the center-link to between B and C on the
indicator (A).
