25.4 In-System Programming Function
The In-System Programming (ISP) function is used to program a program memory space or data flash area through
UART communication with an external device.
25.4.1 Programming Procedure
Figure 25-5 shows the flow diagram for programming the flash memory using the ISP function.

25.4.2 Communication Method
Table 25-6 describes the communication method of the ISP function.
Table 25-6 ISP Function Communication Method
Item
Description
Pins used for ISP function
RESET_N and TEST0 pins
Pins used when entering ISP mode
Communication Method
Half-duplex UART
Pins used for UART communication
TEST0 pin
UART communication format
8-bit length, LSB first, 1 stop bit, no parity bit
Baud rate
Automatic detection between 4800 bps to 2.0 Mbps
[Note]
Ÿ
The UART communication for the ISP function might be affected due to an error of the baud rate and
slow slope of the signals. Be sure to evaluate the operation.
Start
End
Handle flash memory
Control RESET_N and TEST0 pins.
Shift to ISP mode
Control TEST0 pin.
