Center the membrane retainer (1) over the membrane clamp (3). Press the 
membrane retainer into the clamp, thus securing the membrane (2).

Place the retainer assembly upside down on the work surface so the clamp 
is on top and retainer on the bottom. Grasp the electrode carefully and 
press it firmly against the membrane and into the membrane clamp.
