Reagent Parameters
Calibration parameters specific for a particular reagent lot are included with certain
multipoint, non-linear reagent cartridges. These parameters are referred to as Reagent
Lot Specific Parameters. The Reagent Lot Specific Parameters, contained in four bar
codes, are included on a card in the Reagent Kit.
These parameters:
• are loaded as part of a reagent load whenever the parameters are not found in the
database.
• can be loaded using the hand-held bar code reader or loaded manually.
• must have the related chemistry re-calibrated after they are loaded. The system will
not automatically change the chemistry status to Cal Required.
Loading Reagent Parameters
Step
Action
1
Select the Rgts/Cal icon from the menu bar.
Note: If parameters are loaded as part of the reagent cartridge load, proceed
directly to Step 3.
2
Select Params [F2].
Note: Parameters cannot be loaded if the reagent cartridge is onboard and
the system status is Running.
3
Once the reagent cartridge is successfully loaded, a Load Reagent
Parameters dialog box will appear to enter data for cartridges requiring
parameter entry.
To automatically load reagent parameters:
• Using the hand-held bar code reader, position the hand-held bar code
reader window directly over the "Row 1" reagent bar code on the card
and press the trigger.
• Scan "Row 1" bar code on the parameter card. A beep will indicate a
successful bar code read. If the bar code reads successfully, the bar code
is shown and verified by a check mark.
• Continue to scan each of the four bar codes.
Unacceptable bar codes will not be read and a message will be appear.
