Installation conditions TLC 1000 and TLC 1005 - Version 5
2-19
For ring circuits, it is absolutely necessary that a ball cock be
installed between all bifurcating stub cables, so that the pipes can
be shut down a section at a time.
Note
See "Central laser gas supply" for notes on installation and on
pressure and leak tests.
Cutting gas supply with cylinders or
bundles
•
Cutting gas supplies with pressure reducers for cylinders or
bundles is the easiest and most economical way of supplying
gas; handling requirements are greater, however, due to the
volume of consumption. 1 bundle contains 12 cylinders =
approx. 120 Nm
3
gas.
•
The gas flow is interrupted when changing cylinders or
bundles.
•
This method of supply is only suitable to a certain extent for N
2
high-pressure cutting.
•
Switching devices are required for uninterrupted operation with
cylinder or bundle banks and also for changing cylinders.
•
The switch-over is carried out manually or automatically

.
•
Cylinder or cylinder bundles are usually installed some
distance away from the laser machine. For this reason the use
of a tapping point pressure reducer in the vicinity of the laser
system is recommended.

Note
In all cases, a pressure monitor must be installed using the
specified pressure regulator on the supply unit. Pressure regulators
must be secured against the max. input pressure (inherently safe).
5
The use of a signaling unit is advisable for automatic changeover. Without
it, the battery system could be drained empty at both sides of the cylinder
or bundle battery without this being detected.
