Utilization of the TSD seam sensor system was previously only
possible for fixed welding applications, although project-specific
adjustments were required in each case. The following are new:
•
Preset measurement and application programs for defined
measurement tasks.
•
NC cycles for the programming of measurement functions.
•
User-guided operation and calibration.
The seam sensor system includes:
•
Seam sensor (camera and illumination system).
•
Monitor (LCD-TFT touchscreen).
•
Image processing computer.
•
NC cycles and utility program.
The image processing system is integrated into the control system
of the machine. The measured values yielded from the image
processing are transmitted to the control system. The control
system transforms these into axis coordinates. A fundamental
distinction is made when applying the seam sensor system
between online and offline operation:
•
The seam position or another workpiece attribute is measured
in three dimensions with offline operation, after which welding
is accomplished along a corrected path.
•
The seam position is measured during welding with online
operation. The control system regulates the axis position
based on these measured values in a way which compensates
for advance movement.
