Determining the joint offset

Prerequisite
•
B and C axes are set exactly.
•
The processing optics are fully installed.
•
The beam is centered.
•
The focus position has been determined and set.
•
For cutting head: distance control system characteristic curve
has been recorded.
Additional equipment, tools, material
•
Gauge
block.
•
Feeler
gauge.
1.
Select processing optics:
–
Select >Operation >Set-up > Service.
–
Set the "Head change" switch element to ACTIVE.
–
Execute the selection dialog (see section "Selecting the
processing optics").
2.
Select >Operation >Set-up >MDA.
3.
Enter B0 C0.
4.
Press Start.
The B and C axes travel to position 0.
5.
Position the processing optics:
–
Position the cutting head over the sheet at a nozzle stand-
off of 0.7 mm. Use a feeler gauge to check.
–
Position the welding head over the sheet at a nozzle
distance of 15 mm. Use a gauge block to check.
6.
Set up gauge blocks from top edge of sheet to reference area
for bottom edge of aluminum housing. Calculate dimension E:
add up gauge blocks.
7.
Calculate joint offset: add dimension E to reference value F.
