Laser processing
1-27
Measures taken by the manufacturer
The machine may only be operated if the safety devices are active.
•
The laser unit is covered with a hood. The hood is monitored
by a safety switch and should only be opened using the
appropriate tool.
•
The laser radiation emission opening is labeled by a sign in
accordance with EN 60825-1.
•
There is a semireflecting mirror in the laser unit (beam
generator). The laser power is measured by a power sensor
head in the extension of the mirror. It is not possible to come in
contact with escaping laser radiation if the power sensor head
has been mounted properly.
•
During normal operation, there is no point at which the invisible
laser radiation can escape from the beam guideway on the
way from the beam generator to the cutting head.
•
Scattered radiation caused by the reflection of the laser beam
from the workpiece is effectively absorbed by the safety cabin.
The red laser warning lamp on the safety cabin indicates that the
laser is ignited. The laser warning lamp is part of the safety
equipment of the machine and is monitored by the control system.
The laser will not be ignited in the event of a malfunction (e.g.
defective bulb). The defective bulb must be replaced.
