37.Loopback Interface Commands
A loopback interface is a virtual interface to set this Switching Hub as
an output destination.
Assigning a network address to a loopback interface allows you to
configure a virtual network. It is also used in other protocols, such as
OSPF and BGP.
In this chapter, you will create and delete a loopback interface.
37.1. create loopback ipif
Description
This command is used to create a loopback interface on the Switch.
Format
create loopback ipif <ipif_name 12> {<network_address>} {state [enable | disable]}
Parameters
Restrictions
Only Administrator, Operator and Power-User level users can issue this command.
create loopback ipif <ipif_name 12> {<network_address>} {state [enable | disable]}
config loopback ipif <ipif_name 12> [{ipaddress <network_address> | state [enable | disable]}(1)]
show loopback ipif {<ipif_name 12>}
delete loopback ipif [<ipif_name 12> | all]
<ipif_name 12>
Enter the IP interface name used for this configuration here. This name can be up to 12
characters long.
<network_address>
(Optional) Enter the IPv4 network address of the loopback interface here. It specifies a
host address and length of network mask.
state
(Optional) Specifies the state of the loopback interface.
enable
Specifies that the loopback interface state will be enabled.
disable
Specifies that the loopback interface state will be disabled.
