27. IGMP Snooping Commands
227
Restrictions
Only Administrator, Operator and Power-User level users can issue this command.
Example
To configure the IGMP snooping querier:
27.3. config router_ports
Description
This command is used to designate a range of ports as being connected to multicast-
enabled routers. This will ensure that all packets with such a router as its destination
will reach the multicast-enabled router, regardless of protocol.
Format
config router_ports [<vlan_name 32> | vlanid <vlanid_list>] [add | delete] <portlist>
Parameters
state
If the state is enable, it allows the Switching Hub to be selected as a IGMP Querier (sends
IGMP query packets). If the state is disabled, then the Switching Hub can not play the
role as a querier. Note that if the Layer 3 router connected to the Switching Hub provides
only the IGMP proxy function but does not provide the multicast routing function, then
this state must be configured as disabled. Otherwise, if the Layer 3 router is not selected
as the querier, it will not send the IGMP query packet. Since it will not also send the
multicast-routing protocol packet, the port will be timed out as a router port.
enable
Allows the Switching Hub to be selected as an IGMP Querier (sends IGMP query
packets).
disable
When disabled, the Switching Hub can not play the role as a querier.
version Specify the version of IGMP packet that will be sent by this port. If a IGMP packet
received by the interface has a version higher than the specified version, this packet will
be forward from the router's ports or VLAN flooding.
<value 1-3>
Specify the values between 1 and 3.
Zxxx0:admin#config igmp_snooping querier vlan_name default query_interval 125
state enable
Command: config igmp_snooping querier vlan_name default query_interval 125 state
enable
Success.
Zxxx0:admin#
<vlan_name 32>
Specify the name of the VLAN on which the router port resides.
