With unit version 1.1 or later and CX-Programmer version 9.6 or higher, you
can use longer passwords for UM read protection and task read protection.
Click the Protection Tab in the PLC Properties Dialog Box and enter the pass-
words.
The limits to the password text string lengths are given in the following table.

Go online and select PLC - Protection - Release Password. The follow-
ing Release Read Protection Dialog Box will be displayed.

Input the password. If the password is incorrect, one of the following mes-
sages will be displayed and protection will not be released.

Selecting the Check Box
extends the protection
