Serial Data Transmission (Synchronous Mode)
Figure 14.18 shows a sample flowchart for serial transmission.
Use the following procedure for serial data transmission after enabling the SCIF for
transmission.

Read TDFE flag in SC1SSR
Initialization
Write transmit data to SCFTDR
and clear TDFE flag to 0
in SC1SSR
TDFE = 1?
All data transmitted?
Read TEND flag in SC1SSR
TEND = 1?
Clear TE bit to 0 in SCSCR

1. PFC initialization: Set the TxD pin,
and the SCK pin if necessary, with
the PFC.
2. SCIF status check and transmit data
write: Read SC1SSR and check that
TDFE =1, then write transmit data to
the transmit FIFO data register
(SCFTDR) and clear the TDFE flag
to 0.
3. Serial transmission continuation
procedure: To continue serial
transmission, read 1 from the TDFE
flag to confirm that writing is possible,
then write data to SCFTDR, and then
clear the TDFE flag to 0.
