Working with Internal Drives

Note: If your server comes with a supplemental two-drop drive

power cable, and you have fully populated the drive
bays, attach the two-drop cable to one of the drive power
cables.

13. If you are installing a removable media drive in bay 1, remove

the cover plate:

a. Insert a small flat-blade screwdriver under the side of the

cover plate.

b. Lift the cover plate and remove it from the server front

panel. (Save the cover plate for future use.)

What to do next

To install a drive in bays 3 through bay 7, continue with
the next step.

If you do not want to install any other drives, go to step
18 on page 89.
