1 Introduction
The range of BS2000/OSD servers has been extended by the addition of the S120 series.
The spectrum of user facilities of the new models lies betweeen that of the S115 and the
S135. They are powerful systems for scientific and commercial applications.
The S120 Business Server (or cluster) has a modular structure and can easily be upgraded
on site.
The main memory can be expanded by up to 2 Gbytes.
The input/output system consists of 1 I/O processor. Up to 64 channels can therefore be
configured for connecting peripheral devices with type-2, type-S or type-F channel inter-
faces. LAN networking is possible via the 3970-SKP servive/console processor, a connec-
tion to the TRANSDATA network world via front-end processors.
The service processor (SVP) and the external 3970-SKP service/console processor
support common operation, monitoring, diagnosis and maintenance of the computer as well
as TELESERVICE.
Like all computers in the 7.500 system family and the S1xx server series, the S120
Business Server uses the BS2000 operating system in either dialog, online teleprocessing
(OLTP) or batch mode. This offers the portability and compatibility of BS2000 programs.
