16.4.3.3 Copying and Pasting Instant Messages
You can copy the messages in the "history" window or "input" edit box, as
you can do in the "Word Processor". However, since the "history" window is
read only, you cannot paste, cut, or delete the messages in the "history"
window. If you wish, you can paste text into the "input" edit box. To select a
block of text, move the cursor to the start point, and press “Ctrl-b”. Move to
the end point of the text to be selected. Press "Ctrl-c" to copy. Move the
cursor to the place where you want to insert the copied text (the "input" edit
box, or an edit box of another program), and press "Ctrl-v" to paste the text.
You can press "Ctrl-a", to select all the text in the current control. IN addition
to using the hot keys listed above, you can perform these functions using the
"Edit" menu.
16.4.3.4 Searching Messages
You can search the messages in the "history" window for text. This is very
useful especially when you have exchanged many messages. The "Find"
dialog is used for this purpose, and works the same as the one in the "Word
Processor". Press “Alt” to open the menu. Press “down arrow button” to
move to "Edit", and press "Enter". Press “down arrow button” repeatedly to
move to "Find", and press "Enter". Or to activate this function directly, press
"Ctrl-f". The "Find" dialog appears, and the "Text to find" edit box is focused.
Type the string to search for and set the search direction, and press "Enter".
The focus moves to the message that contains the text you searched. To
find it again in the same direction, press "Ctrl-f”. If the text is not found, the
unit announces, "Not found", and the cursor is placed where you invoked the
"Find" dialog.
